The Family Law and Unbundled Law Sections will hold a joint meeting Friday, January 17 from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. via Zoom

The Mediation and Arbitration Section is also invited.

Topic: 

"Collaborative Law In Alaska: Update and Ethics Overview"  (AKACP association protocols; related attorney ethic rules / application (Alaska Rules of Professional Conduct); case studies review; Collab. as an additional wedge in your law practice scope of services).  Ethics topics and related rules will include some/all of the following: Competence (Rule 1.1(a)); Scope of Representation (1.2(a) and (c) ); Diligence (1.3 -- "zeal" in Comment); Confidentiality of Information (1.6(a)); Client With Impaired Capacity (1.14(b) and(c)); Advisor (2.1); Fairness to Opposing Party and  Counsel (3.4). 

Presenters: Lisa M. Rogers, CPA (Rogers & Company, P.C.); Valerie Demming, PhD (Demming Counseling Services); two experienced members of both the Alaska Association of Collaborative Professionals and the International Association of Collaborative Professionals.  Alaska Attorney members of both associations will also actively participate.  1.0 General & 0.5 Ethics CLE Credits
